Good for kids
Nice stroll along polder and river, open only from april until october. Many birds, some great flora. Area has been changed some years ago into so called 'new nature': new ditches and gulleys have been dug to allow more water from the hillridge to spring up and stay, for wadingbirds. (Them forgot to change and maintain the route though, which makes it rather hard to find. Try to find the little wooden posts with a red top and have fun.) Routeposting and waymarking has been improved dramatically. At the far end you can have the opportunity to cross the dike and continue on the other side, through Kolland, or return to Amerongen via the estate of Zuykenstein. If the route is closed in winter take the other side of the road, the Bovenpolder Oost is equally nice and open in winter.
