Julius Taminiau embodies a rare atmosphere of effortlessly reconciled creative and practical grace. He is a deep thinker, an acute listener and a truly imaginative soul. Every day, I walk into my place of work, which he designed, and marvel at the way in which he transcended all the technical challenges of a recording studio to arrive at an actualisation of the many intangibles i had presented him at the start of our journey together. He gave me the space to dream, then he made my dreams come true. It is difficult not to be evangelical about his architectural practice, as engaging his services has resulted in one of the most positive and transformative experiences of my life.

Julius Taminiau Architect was founded in 2010 and based in Amsterdam. The practice works on cultural, residential and commercial architecture. Providing full architectural and interior design services. Authenticity is key. In our designs the unique character of site and program are fundamental for an architectural idea. Next to this we believe collaboration is most important in achieving a high quality design. We are specialised in the synthesis of new projects into contexts with specific cultural and historic importance. Several of the projects involve renovation and expansion of historically important structures. Julius Taminiau Architect emphasises sustainable building and site development as fundamental to innovative and imaginative design, incorporating clever design solutions and advanced mechanical systems.

Wij waren op zoek naar iemand die voor ons een strakke, lichte en kostenefficiënte aanbouw wilde ontwerpen en uitvoeren. Het blijkt dat Julius goed aanvoelt wat de wensen van opdrachtgever zijn. Vanaf het schetsontwerp tot aan het eind waren we ontzettend enthousiast. Eigenlijk hebben we al zijn ideeën een op een overgenomen. Erg fijne samenwerking en vol goede, haalbare en praktische ideeën en tot in detaillering uitstekend verzorgt. Julius heeft bij onze aanbouw volledig de zorgen uit handen genomen en is een fijne en betrouwbare schakel tussen de verschillende aannemers, hij zit er ook duidelijk bovenop. Voor ons echt een meerwaarde om met een architect te werken ipv alleen met een aannemer, het wordt door de detaillering en creativiteit van deze professional echt veel mooier. Een duidelijke waardevermeerdering van het huis, ook financieel;-). Aanrader!!
