I used to love working in this library when I was a student in Amsterdam. It is a bit noisier than libraries in the UK, but I got around that by bringing ear plugs. The restaurant on the ground floor was always very good, the cafe inside was also very nice and the view from the top is excellent

I'm a tourist from the US. This Library blew my mind. It has fascinating exhibits all over the building. The roof has an amazing view of the local area. I wish I had stayed longer, so I could have spent more time just in the library.
Beautiful library with a lot of space to study and tons of books. The kids section is very nice too with also a cosy big reading area. At the top floor there is also a cafe and restaurant with a terrace. From there you can admire the view over the city of Amsterdam. Only negative point: I have heard that it's not safe to go study there alone, someone should always come with you to watch your things while you are in the bathroom.
It is modern library not only stocked with books but quality art works. It is a clean shiny library. The library is highly computerized so much that I couldn't print documents by paying cash.
It’s more than just a public library! There’s a cafe and a section for kids to read and play. You just have to grab a good spot and sit there to read, study or work. There’s pin drop silence and it makes for a great atmosphere to focus and do quality work. OBA also has a good collection of books in English. It’s definitely a must-visit!
