New hip place in Amsterdam it seems. The service is fine and the place is spacious and well-decorated, but if you are looking for a real bowl of ramen with that umami broth, this is probably not it. For me, the ramen was also extremely salty. I ate at a lot of ramen places in Amsterdam and ramen is in general salty but this was so salty I think I only finished 2 spoons and had to leave the rest. And it was expensive even for Amsterdam standard.
A perfectly pleasant bowl of ramen but slightly lacks the authenticity and appeal of a truly Japanese establishment. The service is often perfunctory and a little slap-dash but sufficient, given the large number of covers. While the dining experience was relatively enjoyable, I was left wondering what OTEMBA’s point of difference is from the many (and often better) ramen restaurants of Amsterdam.
I think the taste is not really authentic but still a good ramen!
We were a bit disappointed - there was only one vegan option and it basically consisted of removing an egg from the dish - without replacing it with anything in exchange. There was just one small cube of tofu in the whole bowl and for 15 it feels like a scam that at least some more tofu was not added to it... I feel it is not fair to charge the same 15 for "veganizing" the dish by making it smaller.... at least put something instead especially since an egg is much more expensive than an extra cube of tofu! And interestingly, I was given the same argument as in the other review that it would impact the taste.... but that's not how it works.
Delicious! Full of original and delicious flavours. From the gyoza to the vega ramen until the fresh green tea ice cream, every one is worth it. And friendly staff!
Delicious food ! Super friendly and quick service! We have ordered the Tsukemen, Abura soba, Okonomiyaki sticks (a must!) and the icecream of course. It was all soooo tasty! This was (by far) the best Japanese food we had for a long time. The waiters were so friendly and helpful, we had such a fun! Highly recommended.
