Stumbled upon this place while on a vacation on the first day in the Netherlands after deciding we had too much sausages in Germany. It serves predominantly Cantonese cuisine, and prices are somewhat line with what you'd pay at nearby restaurants. Tried the beef with fried noodles and stir fried beef with thick noodles. It's actually quite good, from a Chinese perspective.

Food tastes very good. But it's not always fresh. On one occasion it's been microwaved. Nice atmosphere. The personnel seems to be dreamy a bit.
Fat Kee is one of the better Chinese restaurants in this part of the city centre in terms of the food. The food is of a good quality and is flavoursome, comes out quickly and is very reasonably priced too. The downside is, even if you’ve booked, you’ll probably end up waiting for a table and then when you get to it you’ll feel rushed to eat and get out, as most evenings it gets very busy. Staff seem to be concerned about up keeping the constant table turnover and are not overly attentive and can come across apathetic and a little rude. If you can let that slide and are simply interested in enjoying a quick tasty Chinese meal for a decent price, I recommend it!
The food quality is not a constant, i.e. not each and every time the same level. I had more lucky days than unlucky days there, though. For example one day I had Tja Sieuw (roasted porc) absolutely fresh and crispy and delicious soft juicy. Few weeks later the same order but is was just a microwaved rubbery leftover tasting very bland. So when I go there, even though the ambiance is nice, I'll have mixed feelings, and if it's again not fresh I'll just leave and pay only the dishwasher. So please Fat Kee, maintain a constant quality factor, I know you can do it.
In Spanish, there's a phrase that says: create fame and lay down to sleep. And that is exactly what seems to have happened to the Fat Kee. They probably were the best at one point in time, but the fame is really what survives to this date. The place is small, food a bit bland. We ordered fried wontong, fried Chinese rice, a duck in noodles nest (the noodles were clearly not fresh). I had looked forward to this dinner for a very long time, precisely because of the fame they created. Disappointing is what can be said... It was my first and most likely last time there.
