Good for kids
The lighthouse, called \De Ven\, is an historic site, worth a visit. Commissioned in 1700, it is one of the oldest lighthouses in the Netherlands. It is still in operation. Don't miss the antique plaque at the back, so on the see side after climbing the stair to the top of the dike.

Beautiful and peaceful place on Earth
We went there today (7/8/2018) early in the morning to see a magnificent sunrise. The Netherlands has such beautiful spots and this is one of them. If you are in the area, make sure to visit the historic towns of (from North to South) Medemblik, Enkhuizen and, my favourite, Hoorn

Dit is een hele oude vuurtoren en je hebt hier een prachtig uitzicht over het IJsselmeer. Je hebt ruim 180 graden overzicht over het IJsselmeer omdat de bocht hier een knik maakt. Het enige minpunt is dat er slechts 2 bankjes staan. Dat hadden er minimaal 5 of 6 moeten zijn.
Gewoon een mooi plekje, vooral in de ochtend met opkomende zon.
Mooi uitzicht, leuke picknickplek. Is de ondergrond van de Heineken reclame.. (wel even met één oog dicht kijken)
Mooie toren, helaas geen vuur.
