We sailed with GaySails for a week in February in the Caribbean. The trip started in St. Maarten and we visited amazing bays and beaches there, in Anguilla and St. Barth. The scenery while at sail was unbelievably beautiful as well. I love to sail and got to help out, and my husband who is not a sailor got to chill and bask in the sun. Perfect! When booking this trip we were a little hesitant about spending a week on a boat with strangers. It did not take long for my worries to disappear, and we made new friends from around the world. Of course every group will be different, but I think the amazing setting brings out the best and most relaxed version of people. I certainly felt very blissed out. The crew did a fantastic job in welcoming us, serving great food and getting us safely around the Caribbean. Thank you Huug and Eric!
This was my first trip on GaySail. I went with a friend and we shared a cabin. I very much enjoyed the feel of sailing when we had good wind and weather and went with out motors. The cook (JP) was excellent and I enjoyed his food quite a bit. I learned how to drop and retrieve the anchor and became the anchor boy :-). Overall I had a great time. I enjoyed spending time naked where possible and just relaxing and not worrying about anything. It was so enjoyable that my friend and I almost booked onto the next trip a few weeks later, but alas, the flights over to Tahiti killed that option.
Wonderful island hopping with a great crew! Fantastic dinners arranged in advance at exceptional quality restaurants, but the highlight is always the beach bar-b-que, just don’t let Brett serve too many rum punches! Thanks to William & Frans, our cook & captain, we had a safe & great adventure. My only recommendation for the future is “pancakes!” (Inside joke). Mark is very accomplished with making all the logistics work.
February 2020 trip to St Martin was amazing. Great food, great people, perfect weather, great sailing. I will definitely be back sailing with gaysail. Thanks Mark and JP for a wonderful trip.
