What a beautiful place. The Venice of the Netherlands we were told and it is just a wonderful place to be in. Lots of people but that's to be expected. Everyone should come and visit. The museum was really interesting and explained a lot about the history of the place. Five and a half euros to get in but I think it was worth it.

Geithoorn.. wonderful place about 100 miles from central Amsterdam.. very close to Nature.. wonderful canal leading to the sea and nice place to sail for Giethoorn tour across restaurants, wonderful scenic houses.. Peaceful place to spend quality time with friends and family. Must to take a boat ride across Giethoorn.

Perfect place for family, friends or a couple trip. Hire a boat which are battery operated and you get for 1hr, 2 hrs hire. The museum gives you historic importance of this place which is also fisherman's island and also known as Venice of Amsterdam/Netherlands.

Beautiful and unique village. Amazing place for a cheap boat ride and trying out your skills navigating a boat. Spend some time at the lake and go in the morning as its probably tourist destination no. 2 in the NL.
