While most people think of Delft for Delftware pottery, in the twentieth century much of Delftware (as well as distinctive Gouda-style pottery) came from Gouda.Montagne is one of the few remaining companies surviving from this golden age of Gouda potteries. Montagne makes a wide variety of pieces, including some of the finest-painted Delftware currently made in The Netherlands (under their De Wit unica product line). A visit to Montagne Aardewerkfabriek gives one a peek at a centuries-old traditional art done in a modern facility just outside Gouda.
