We absolutely loved our stay at Cido and Rob's apartment in Amsterdam!! 4 women celebrating 60, we were totally comfortable in the 1 bedroom with a pullout couch. The location is fabulous, easy walking all over Amsterdam, and what a great city!! Cido and Rob made us feel so welcome, and helped us with any questions, directions, recommendations etc. I will definitely be back, this time with my husband! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!!

It was a complete pleasure to spend five nights here (May 27-31, 2015), in the second floor apartment overlooking the canal with its motley crews: luxury tour boats with chefs cooking in the back, homely craft with only one or two, bachelor parties in full swing. Even more fascinating was the endless parade of cyclists - all ages and all stages on their tall bikes at all hours of the day. You can just sit by the big windows and watch Amsterdam roll by without even walking out! But when you do, you are on a lively street surrounded by other pretty shopping and residential streets, and less than half an hour's walk to the museum district. Across the canal is a street with a supermarket and an organic food store, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays there are open air markets in the square, one for organic veggies and food, and one for antiques. (And don't miss the street market stalls along the street behind the square.) Having a kitchen and good food near by saves a lot of money, as the restaurants can be quite expensive. The bedroom is at the back of the apartment, so there is no disturbance from the street life that is so much fun to watch. And there is a laundry room on the ground floor. Cido, the owner, lives downstairs and gives you her phone number for any assistance, but the apartment is self-contained and you don't feel as if you are in someone else's space. After walking all over the city, I felt that this was the nicest area to have lucked into. I would recommend it to anyone (as long as there is no mobility issue with stairs, since there is no elevator). Oh, and no cat person should miss the KattenKabinett, a few streets away, a museum devoted to art with cats as the subject - two full floors of it in a lovely old house, with real cats on the premises.

Cido and Rob are amazing hosts. We were warmly welcomed by them (and their two cats sunning themselves on the porch) upon our arrival. Cido showed us around the apartment and gave us some excellent tips about the area, such as checking out the market across the canal to buy fresh fish and vegetables! A definite must! The apartment was nicely decorated (loved the cabinet with all the KLM Delft houses) and it included all the necessities that made it a home during our stay - a good coffee maker, a comfortable bed, a great shower head, puzzles for the kids and plenty of Amsterdam guide books to help us plan our days. There was even a bottle of wine and cookies for us on the table to kick off the start to our stay. The locations is the best in Amsterdam - we felt like we were living in the city rather than being tourists. It is in the middle of everything but away from the chaos of the thousands of tourists closer to Dam Square. We walked everywhere and never had to take public transportation. In the evening, we enjoyed watching the boats go by on the Princengracht. The highlight of our stay was the boat tour with Rob and Cido. Avoid taking the large canal boat tour in Amsterdam if you can. We spent four hours on the boat with our hosts weaving in and out of many of the picturesque canals of Amsterdam. Rob is very knowledgeable about the city and pointed out so many interesting facts and details. We brought along snacks and wine and spent the afternoon cruising around the city. We felt more like house guests than renters at their place. Great Dutch hospitality! Bedankt!
