My very first floating experience here at Koan Float was very nice. - The staff explained where everything is and how it works. - There is tea, water, fruit and cookies if you like some. - There are books about floating that you can read when you arrived or after floating. We arrived early so we had time to relax. When I went inside I felt like I was swinging in the water. Later on, this feeling made me nauseous so I took time to sit in the water. I think the next time I will be at ease. It was a bit hard to feel at home because this experience was new and exciting. You have to surrender your power and relax your muscles to fully enjoy the weightless feeling you get in the water. I definitely recommend floating. It feels uncomfortable at the beginning but I am sure it will get better over time. I feel extremely calm afterwards :)

It was very fun activity to do while vacationing. It was a very luxury experience. They have warm robes for you to wear while waiting between treatments & an area with blow dryers that are free to use, which was nice! I liked that I got to shower after my massage so I wasn’t stuck feeling greasy like after most places (because of massage oils). Definitely very unique!

I have been floating regularly for 25 years and I have never had a bad experience. Yesterday I left more stressed than when I arrived after aggressively being demanded to pay a surcharge because the balance on my membership. The surcharge was not an issue but as I had was not expecting it and so did not have my wallet with me I assured them I would have to pay them later in the day. Despite explaining this, and even thought they have all my details on file, they still demanded payment before I left so I just walked out and then contacted them later. Not least because the point of the float was to de-stress between university exam that afternoon. When I did contact them later I received a curt email telling me that I didn't need to pay them anything. Further more the previous day I had floated in a tank that had a thick layer of epsom salts, that were covering the heating element and the tank colder than it should be. I've never seen this before and had to stop the float dislodge the salt myself and request they recycle the tank. It was at least quiet this week whereas before I have heard drilling coming through the floor from work being done on adjacent buildings. However, it is in the centre of Amsterdam so a little noise is inevitable, and maybe the salt had become baked to the base of less use since re-opening. The floats I had were still beneficial, they have long opening hours, the showers are great, and you can book online. Just don't go for the friendly service.

Floors were a bit dirty, staff wasn't particularly nice (and almost no explanationa were given) and you only get a small towel for the whole body and hair. And no shampoo (or conditioner) so you can't wash your hair (they told me I didn't need to bring anything...!)

Nice, clean and cozy. The floating capsule is not very big, but enough for me. Extra points for the Dyson hairdryers :)
