I passed through Maastricht in 2019 on a trip from Aix-la-Chapelle to Liège and decided to have lunch there. The Gauchos is nicely located at the city's beautiful main square. The price for a perfectly cooked medium rare 180g rump steak, fries, a salad, and a large beer was only 21,50 euros. So really good value for my money. Also, the staff was friendly and the service was reasonably quick. The outdoor seating offers a great view over the Vrijthof square.

Great place for a tasty, high quality steak. Unfortunately, there are no side dishes nor sauce that come with a steak. Sauce, vegetables and/or fries have to be ordered separetely. A bit pricey, but definitely worth jt. The staff was very professional, friendly and helpful.
The restaurant is in great condition and felt very clean. The staff acted very professionally and I felt treated well. The 1 Kilo steak while being 50 is definitely worth it if being shared between 3 or more people along with some sides. It’s was also nice that given the size of the 1 Kilo steak that it could be sent back to the kitchen several times to be cooked further if desired. The meat itself was good, and the sides were enjoyable.
Popped in on the off chance of a table early this evening (covid19, only reservation) and was lucky. Was made a space in a 5 minute wait. I ordered gamba's which was excellent and a lovely plate. The dinner I had picanha, which tasted exactly as they do in south America. Meal service was spot on, food presentation and quality first class and staff so attentive. A very nice chilled out dining experience and evident that this is a venue that prides itself on diner experience, good quality food in a relaxed modern atmosphere. Definately will be returning soon.
Well located in Maastrichts central square, this restaurant serves superior steaks (as you would expect from any Gauchos). Both the wine & beer selection are wide and varied, the staff and knowledgeable and helpful, and the meat is perfectly cooked serving up a juicy succulent medium rare stake. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
