Wonderful museum! In a small village close to Venlo, a few traditional buildings have been restored and redecorated to provide a look into life in this area last century. Very well presented and with lots of volunteers maintaining it beautifully, explaining and demonstrating old crafts. Also houses the national Asparagus museum and Champignon Museum, both also very interesting. Lots of things to do for children, including a playground. Nice restaurant and shop. Try the homemade sugar beet syrup! Easy to spend 3-4 hours.

A simple but amazing museum. Although lacking in English explanations, the staff made up for it with lots of enthusiasm. A member of the staff joined us for several parts of the site and made sure we understood what was going on and that we didn't miss anything. The mushroom pavilion is not amazing but the greenhouse with tomatoes to eat was a treat. The children also really enjoyed the \old\ games.
The museum displays the farming system and its history in the Netherlands. I mainly visited the mushroom museum. It shows the production process of button mushrooms. Displays a variety of edible and poisnus mushroom types. It teaches type of mushroom species in the form of game. Nice place to learn about mushrooms.
Verry nice open air museum about Dutch history and farming of local products. Highly recommended for people of all ages but especially fun for children with alot of activities available ( check their website for up to date activities).
Old trades & skills in a relaxed & rural environment. The asparagus soup is delicious as well.
