A boat tour advertised as a fortress tour. It's not really about the fortress though, you'd except information about the history of the town, battles, why the fortress was build. Important events like the massaracre of Naarden was mentioned once in a single sentence. Others were not discussed at all. So what do you hear about on the boat tour? Birds. Lots of information about birds. The thing is, I don't mind learning about birds but if the tour is advertised as a fortress boat tour you won't think it focuses so much on birds. I know everything about the kingfishers now along with all the birds our guide saw once upon a time. Also, we had a guide that said he would do the tour in English/German. He ended up doing the whole tour in Dutch while he was complaining to the one single Dutch couple how hard it is to do the tour in German and English. Except he didn't do that. He just said everything in Dutch. I speak Dutch so I could translate to my girlfriend but if I didn't it would just be a one hour boat tour with some sights, so tourists beware. All this depends on the guides but the older gentleman with a clear love for the birds was not the best tourguide I've had. All in all waste of time and money. In case the owner reads, it was the tour at 7th of August in the noon.
