Hermes van Amstel

Te Werve is a quite sizeable estate in the middle of the rather urban city of Rijswijk. Its history goes back to the 13th century. There is a very lovely mansion in the centre and a large pond/lake which is also used for swimming (nature swimming pool De Put, separaty accessible). Once it was the private conference venue of Shell, now it can be rented for events such as conferences or weddings. If you give a donation to the society which manages the premises, you are allowed to go there for a recreational stroll as well.

What a beautiful place. Excellent accomodation for party, meetings, lunch and (semi)outdoor dinners. A must go place!!

Nice location, but food and service are of poor quality. The wine is hardly drinkable. The service during a wedding was rude and unprofessional. As an example, the waither refused to give a piece of bread to a couple of 2 years old children because the official start of the buffet was in 10 minutes.
