Fabulous little local museum about the local culture. A bit of war history, sports, the environment and some neat exhibits about local people.

All good and Bad history of Rotterdam\u200b placed here. Included modernised art, I would\u200b reccomend to visit here if you have only one or two hour.

Really liked it. Finally a museum that can be explored well in a reasonable amount of time and that contains the right amount of information. The section about the second world war is very nicely done, so is the section that describes the history of the city from ancient times until now. All in all, a fantastic museum to get a good insight about the city

The museum was nice and informative. Very nice information about the history of Rotterdam and how the war affected the city. Also who were the famous people from Rotterdam and how did they contribute to the city. We went there in summer and they had small ac's in the museum to make it cool a it. Don't be fooled by the size of the place. Even though that it was small, it was very informative and fun.

Small but interesting museum. They have temporary expositions which always focus on the city of Rotterdam. It's fun for kids as well, they usually have a corner focussed on something kids can do, build or interact with. My 4 year old daughter really enjoyed it last time we visited.

Really good experience and lots of safety measures put in place because of covid. Absolutely loved going through the museum and learning more about the history of Rotterdam. Under 18 come in free which is a nice way to have younger people find out about the history

I visited Museum Rotterdam earlier today, with my husband. I only had a classical hand purse, A4 format, and I was said I am not allowed to take it in, but leave it in the closet, at the entrance. I found it weird, since it was the very first museum with these rules, but ok. Then I remembered I had a watter bottle inside, and wanted to pick it with me, but I found out that also water is not allowed inside. My husband got irritated and left, he refused to visit a museum which some strict rules, especially because we received no explanation. Just "these are the house rules!". I still wanted to see the museum and entered, but instead of being able to focus at the exhibits, I could only see the other woman visitors, wearing purses with a bigger volume that my bag had. I started to question the reason for which I was disallowed to take my bag in. So I went to the entrance again, to ask for a better reason. I was said the reason was that bigger bags like mine (A4) could break things in the exhibit. I personally find it to be an unbelievable answer. Then, what about the children strollers which were allowed inside? What about the water bottle? What about the older lady in the attached picture? Couldn't she break down the exhibit also, with her walking platform or with her bag? What is the difference between her bag and mine (second picture attached)? Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience. I only stayed inside for 10 minutes and I would not recommend this museum to anyone. I was given some very weird explanations, which did not seem to apply to other visitors. I felt that someone was afraid I could steal something from the museum, so I left Rotterdam with a bad taste.

The Party People exhibit was fantastic. I feel so honoured to have seen it and the silent disco element really is worth all the trouble. This is the first museam I went to in The Netherlands where everything is also in English and not jus Dutch.
