Saray is het oudste Turkse restaurant in Amsterdam met authentieke en hedendaagse gerechten uit de houtoven en van de houtskool grill. Vanaf 1976 heeft Saray zich ontwikkeld tot een internationale ontmoetingsplaats waar families en vrienden, jong en oud zich thuis voelen. Naast de vertrouwde basis gerechten van de grill, verrast Saray zijn bezoekers graag met nieuwe seizoensgebonden vlees,- vis- en vegetarische gerechten. Duurzaamheid van de gebruikte ingrediënten en in de bedrijfsvoering staat hier hoog in het vaandel. Vanaf september 2013 is Saray uitgebreid en vernieuwd onder toezicht van de architect Erik van Dillen. De uitstraling is nu modern Turks zoals je die in de grote steden van Turkije kunt aantreffen. Saray durft een voorloper zijn als het over de vernieuwingen gaat. Het is geen toeval dat Saray de moeder van Turkse restaurants in Amsterdam wordt genoemd.

I have been at Lokanta already twice in less than a week! It has everything that you wish for when coming for dinner with your loved one and/or your friends: very various and tasty food perfect for sharing (with a lot of vegetarian options), a lovely owner and personnel that make you feel at home and a beautiful plant-filled terrace that make you feel for a couple of hours that you are not in Amsterdam \u003c3

We had two menus for takeaway. Delicious food and also enough and for a good price. Friendly personnel and corona adjustments were made to the restaurant as needed. Would definitely recommend, not just for takeaway but also to sit in the restaurant!

Gorgeous healthy Turkish breakfast and lunch with a modern twist! Their Shakshouka and Tulum Breakfast are so delicious, and love the latte.

We went in for a Turkish tea and although the place doesn’t serve tea, the sweet owner welcomed us in and made us tea and gave us baklava for free! The place itself looks very nice and fancy, perfect for a lunch or dinner date. The owner is the nicest man ever, he chatted with us for a while and we had the best experience at this place. We will definitely come back again and we recommend everyone to go there :D

Very nice restaurant, the owner came to our table to prepare the fresh fish. The mezze and the bread were great for sharing. Nice and relaxed atmosphere, also the house wine was really good!

Really really good Turkish food and very affordable and filling food for lunch in the heart of the bustling de pijp. And the taste is just wonderful and soulful. You can tell that the ingredients are of very good quality. I've seen the place pretty packed in the evenings but for lunch, it was very laid-back. With a million choices in restaurants in de pijp area, it's always a gamble to find a great place. We loved it and we will come back to try different things in the menu because it's we absolutely loved our experience. Their desserts looked great but we were so stuffed that maybe next time, we will make room for them.
