Orangutan Rescue Reviews | Rating 5 out of 5 stars (1 reviews)

Orangutan Rescue is located in Soest, Netherlands on De Bongerd 27. Orangutan Rescue is rated 5 out of 5 in the category animal rescue service in Netherlands. Orangutan Rescue protects the orangutan and its habitat on the island of Borneo. We are doing this in close cooperation with the local people as well as biologist and convervationist Dr. Willie Smits. Step 1 The Sintang Orangutan Center (SOC) provides care and shelter to orangutans which have been confiscated by the local authorities from illegal traders or people who kept them as pets. The SOC treats any physical and mental ailments and prepares the orangutans for their rehabilitation in their natural habitat. Step 2 Tembak Lestari is an area of nearly 60 hectares of rainforest east of the Saran Mountains. It is managed by the SOC as a forest school for orangutans which, due to their illegal captivity and lack of parental care, did not learn the necessary skills to survive in the wild. Step 3 When the orangutans have demonstrated their capabilities to survive in the wild, they are ready to be released into protected forest areas, like the Saran mountain range.
