I love gardens so take this with a grain of salt. However this place was so gorgeous, especially the rock garden. It was built on top of the remains of a fort building. The different sections have so many varieties and it's so relaxing to walk around. It's only 8.50 to get in, and if you're with a child you can buy an activity book for 2.50. I went in the fall so it wasn't as full as it usually is, but I can imagine how wonderful it is in the summer. Still worth visiting in the fall if that's when you are there.

The gardens are beautiful and very large. The butterfly sanctuary is perhaps the most spectacular part of it. Leave aside about 2 hours at least for a visit. The cafe in the garden is open until after closing time and you can enjoy a drink at the gardens once they close.
Wow! What a place! Recomend going first thing in the morning and you will have the whole place to yourself. Coffee and cake delicious also.
I really liked the gardens. It is very clean and the landscaping is nicely done. There are paths to lead you through the trees and plants and also informative boards for the plants.
Wonderful garden. Great show of butterflies. A bit small though. The Rock mountain garden is fun for kids too. A few hidden spots, steep stairs, great views. And amazing to see what plants can grow in Dutch climate. It's given me great ideas for the garden. Definitely worth visiting again.
A very beautiful place situated on the outskirts of Utrecht. Spent over 3 hours there admiring the interesting and earlier unseen plants from all around the world. Also the Tropical Butterfly Festival was something that I will remember for a long time as well as the Tropical Greenhouses and the huge Rock Garden, where you can feel a little bit of the mountain climate.
Beautiful rock garden, and a large variety of plants. One nice addition is the Evolution Garden, showing the evolution of the angiosperms.
Very beautiful, you can take at least two hours to see everything.
