Very impressive to see this. Outside you can see the difference in water level inside and outside the dikes. I often go here when I have visitors from abroad. Inside the machines are huge and incredibly strong. We visited an open day and they explained everything very well. This is one of around five in Flevoland. If the polder would be flooded it will take around 1.5 years to pump the water out again. Definitely worth a visit, especially if they have an open day again.

Gemaal De Blocq van Kuffeler is een gemaal bij Almere Gemaal De Blocq van Kuffeler houdt Zuidelijk Flevoland (Almere, Zeewolde) droog. Het is het grootste gemaal van Europa als gekeken wordt naar opvoerhoogte en capaciteit. Het gemaal is vernoemd naar ingenieur V.J.P. de Blocq van Kuffeler (1878-1963).
