Fitz Usmany

This venue is old school Amsterdam. The food is plain but eatable. The service was nice and swift. We had to go to the theatre, so we were in hurry. After we asked if it was possible to serve us as quickly as possible, they did.

This is a fantastic place with friendly staff. It is a great area if the main part of Amsterdam is getting a bit much. There is a Coffeeshop a couple of doors down but you do not see the same \clientele\ as you would on the main strip of Amsterdam City. There are 16 Special Beers on Draft with many of them local. There is a Metro Station 50 yards from here if you decide to venture back into the main city. The Nationale Opera & Ballet building is directly opposite also if you prefer the cultural side of Amsterdam.

Eli Phetteplace

The Eetcafe Blauwbrug is a great little restaurant with a full menu and full bar. I stopped in for dinner with Ox Tail soup, and veal liver and it was delicious. There is plenty of outside patio seating and a beautiful interior, I loved the lighting. It is a cozy date type of restaurant and the prices are not high either. The wait staff was very nice and greeted me when I came in and offered my choice of seating. I will be back here again.

Although it is a simple place, the environment is fantástic. Funny and happy people made the difference in a cold afternoon. I recommend a pit stop in this place.
