i'm an California expat and a collector living in Amsterdam for 13 years and this is by far the best shop of its kind...Ton and Ais have explored the east since the sixties and have cultivated a relationship with the artisans with whom they trade....they have an eye for quality and the unique.....it is a layered shop and not everything is visible with a casual glance...take your time and a deep breath and find your zen....an oasis in the middle of a hectic city....six stars!!!!

Beautiful shop filled with an amazing selection of authentic items. The staff are very knowledgeable. It is a dutch store so naturally speaking English does present a very slight barrier when engaging with the staff - but I had a very positive experience here and came away with an item I didn't dare to dream I would find in Amsterdam. The owner also gave me his contact details in case I wanted further information and was happy to educate me regarding the piece, how it was made, what it represented and how to care for it. I honestly couldn't speak more highly about this wonderful surprise of a store.

I love this shop. Truly an amazing store. I go there every time I go to Amsterdam as my wife loves his collection. His depth and breadth of product is truly amazing from Nepal (as I remember). I tried to talk American politics with the owner (as I can tell it gets his blood up) but he slyly replied with a slight grin \I have been told to no longer talk politics with the customers\. A very amusing reply. Anyway - go in the store and you will see things you have never seen before, of a quality that goes from quite affordable to very expensive (but as far as I could see, well worth it). He makes the trips himself to buy merchandise with no middle man, so he gets top quality jewelry and statues at reasonable prices.

Treated with contempt!! I am on holiday in Amsterdam, and as my hotel is quite close to this shop, I went in to look at some jewellery. I did like what I saw, so went into the shop.. after browsing when I asked to look at some old chunky jewellery, the vendor Who was constantly looking into his Ipad/ computer, without even looking up Said ‘ Not today, I am tired’! I was too shocked to retort! I seriuosly wanted to shout back and ask why he behaved in this manner. Now I think! Was it mycolour? Does he seriuosly think I was joking? Anyway am very glad that I dis not spend my money in that shop! Girls/ Ladies pls do not visit this shop! The man does not want to sell! He is rude.. especially when he buys from my country and refuses to sell me the goods!!
