Hermes van Amstel

The Tuinland (Gardenland) is a pretty decent and large garden store with a wide selection of plants and garden related articles. They also sell clothing, articles for interior decoration, Christmas decoration in the season, and they have a fairly large internal café/restaurant (currently closed due to the ongoing pandemic). Clearly and also in the Corona times, they are a prime destination in Assen for recreative shopping, especially by somewhat more senior citizens. They are doing their best to adhere to the associated social distancing rules. The staff is quite helpful - the prices are in my perception fairly high relative to the smaller garden centres in the rural areas outside Assen. Overall a good place to come.

Tuinland is a Garden and Plant store with a wide selection. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they also have a lot of plant accessories and pet accessories, from pots and pins, to garden hoses, to dog and cat toys/beds/carriers. The only drawbacks; they do not take Visa, Mastercard or AmEx. Also the locale is not well ventilated, and can become quite warm if the weather outside already is warm and/or sunny.
