A small, yet very interesting museum if you like aviation and or history of world war 2 at Texel. The museum combines a very well laid out exhibit of world war 2 (with lots of original artifacts) and a general exhibit of aviation at the island. All information is in Dutch English and German. The volunteers are available to share stories or answer questions. For children there's also a chance to try out a flight simulator (bring coins! ). Note: 1. Entrance is on the side facing the airfield 2. There's no cafeteria, but the airfield next door has a nice restaurant with terrace so you can watch the airfield

Very interesting Museum about Dutch flight history and the war period of the Texel Island. The Documentation center for all war plane crashes during WWII in this area of the Netherlands provides remarkable details about the fate of pilots and crews of allied and German planes. Furthermore the visitor gets to know a lot about the last battle of WWII in central Europe fought until the end of May 45 between a Georgian volunteer unit (created in 44 by the Germans from former Soviet prisoners of war) and Wehrmacht units. The civilian victims of the battle are also kindly remembered.

A lot of information about Texel during WW II and also a nice exhibition about aviation in general with nice (scale) models, memorabilia and maquettes.
