After a rainy search for a restaurant that served diner on a weeknight, we luckily stumbled upon Beers & Barrels. This was the only restaurant we found on a Wednesday night in the centre which was still serving diner around 20:00 / 21:00. Exactly what we were looking for! The vibe in the restaurant is lovely and there are plenty of beers to choose from. The food-menu is great as well, I would highly recommend the 1/2 chicken. Absolutely loved it. Highly recommended!

We stopped in here for lunch last July before taking the Blue boat tour and was incredibly pleased with their superb hamburgers and French fries. The drinks were tall and cold and our warm sunny day. Great place for chow.
Really nice restaurant next to the canals. The atmosphere is really nice, looks like an old basement and it's unique! The staff is really friendly and helpful. Good variety of the food and they gave a huge variety of craft beers as well. We tried some burger and fries, all of them were tasty and fresh. Prices are normal for Utrecht. It's better to make a booking in advance because it gets really busy. Definitely going back again when in Utrecht!!
Great restaurant in excellent location. Quality of the food is ok/good, not high and the wines are ok. Variety of beers is high and good. Given it has a steakhouse concept it is exactly what you expect and the food options are very good. Atmosphere is THE reason for a nice evening, enjoying a nice dinner or having beers with friends at one of there 'self-tap' beer tables. Note that, as pointed out by others, the acoustic of the room is poor, given it is an old wine cellar. Therefore it can be (almost always is) very loud and difficult to hear others when not close to each other.
Nice place! Great beers, plenty of options, including local beers. The meat was awesome and they offer chimichurri!! This thursday the kitchen closed near 11pm, so I couldn't try dessert... The music was a little loud sometimes, so be prepared to get a little close to people to talk. Great cosy dark ambiance.
Great pub tucked away on the canals within Utrecht city. They offer beer tables where they weigh the keg before and after your visit and charge you the difference. They also offer menu specials every night of 21 day dry aged meat which is then cooked to order. Great atmosphere and quite friendly staff.
Beers and barrels is in my top five for restaurants that need to be visited in Utrecht. Wonderful atmosphere, great location, delicious food. They have a good selection of beers, and even tables that have a built in trap for groups of 6 or more. Highly recommend!
A restaurant with a good beer menu and a lively atmosphere. It should be noted that others in my party found the environment to be too loud. The food looked good, and I would strongly recommend making a reservation ahead of time!
