Excellent tapas spot with top notch service and a fun vibe. The food is delicious and there are great choices for tapas. Our sever was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Fair prices I would say as well (our party of 3 total bill was 70).

Absolutely fantastic experience. Owner couldn't do enough for use. Hand sanitizer was available. The mix grill for two is spectacular! Olives served with pre meal drinks. Can't recommend enough.

Great food and very attentive to the point where they fixed the red wine stain on my white shoes! Will forever return amazing people

Eat Go See

Castillo, 4 tapas, 1 dessert, 1 bottle merlot, tap water: 84 Tapas are a fickle mistress. Everyone has a favourite: favourite type, favourite place, memory, holiday or local. You believe you know what’s good, what’s great and what’s an imposter. It’s also difficult to find value for money as a collection of appetite filling small plates will set you back a sizeable amount. Castillo faces this challenge and, ultimately, the dishes were average. Patatas bravas in its hits the familiar notes with signature slightly spicy sauce but slightly mayonnaise sauce (less aioli) served simply like potato wedges in a bowl. The garlic prawns with chilli are overpowered by the spice rendering a dish absent discernible garlic - a shame as sticky, fudgy garlic can be a joy. The chorizo is fatty, chewy and bleeds oily red smoked paprika with a growing spice brewing. Our manchego cheese, thinly sliced and arranged like a pizza triangles, is mild but non-distinct. The ice cream and chocolate fudge has all the hallmarks of a child’s birthday party. Tapas have moved on so much and modernised that this selection of classics all feels reminiscent of something great but cruises down the middle lane. Yet, Castillo’s best feature is its service. The waiters here are the most attentive and reactive I experienced in two weeks of enduring apathy. They are helpful as we escape the sudden rain outside to the warmer more dramatic interior bringing everything in; this sounds unremarkable: come to Amsterdam and try getting help elsewhere. The wine menu is strong with nods towards Spain and Argentina. Would I come back? Divided. I would certainly come to sit at the bar, drink wine and graze on tapas to soak up the booze.

Changed my order according to the waiter's 'recommendation' but the tenderest steak in their menu is not as tender as I ate. Don't feel like paying for the price. Agree with one of the review, the steak is kinda under seasoned. I saw other customer keep on adding salt too.
