We ordered cake for our son's birthday one week in advance. At the time we were given an album with cake photos to choose from. We made our choice as well as added a muffin with whipped cream and confetti for our little guy. We paid in advance. We wanted something special for our child's very first birthday, but ended up having a negative experience. When my partner went to pick up the cake on the birthday he was told there was no cake... They had placed the order for August 2021. Then the staff proceeded to offer another random cake instead. We wanted a special birthday cake for our son's 1st birthday, thus we did not want a random substitute. They could not give us a refund. Then they woke up the baker to bake the cake. After 30min the cake was made... it was nothing like the one we had ordered from the photo. When asked why is it different the answer was \How would I know that?\ What was the order then for? Don't they have numbers for the ordered cakes? The cake was inattentively made. The muffin had plain whipped cream. We got an additional cake. Nice, but we would have been happy with just ONE right cake. In conclusion. I understand mistakes happen. But the way Mekking Bakery dealt with it was poor and inattentive. Sure, we are not a royal family, but that day was special for us. The Mekking Bakery staff showed little care for that. Poor customer care.
