The embassy staff are friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and were a pleasure to work with. They are Dutch, thankfully. Trying to get a diplomat to do their job when they would rather be cruising round The Hague in their Mercedes because they have been in the office for a whole 2.5 hours in a day already is an entirely different story.

They have re-scheduled my appointment by phone for 3 April 2020 in March 2020. When I turned up the Embassy was closed, nobody answered the phone and there was no ability to leave a message - phone call cuts off after the beep. Other people with appointments were outside in the same situation. Nobody called to advice that they are closed. The sign outside says they reopen on 1 April but obviously nobody has even taken it off! Disgusting!
Have been trying to call the embassy for days. Constantly reach their voicemail. No one calls me back. Call is necessary since the information available on their website is insufficient.
With the little support they get from South-Africa and even with out dated equipment, the staff here try and do the best they can and go the extra mile! Thank you so much for all the assistance and willingness to help even though the systems and equipment make it very difficult!
I was assisted quickly and kindly. Phone was answered even though you have to push through a little. They've improved greatly in that regard. Remember you're dealing with government officials and are not there for a spa treatment and you'll be fine. Also read up on rules and regulations regarding permits and Visa's. It'll save you a lot of frustration.
