nice student community cinema, lounge area (still everything is closed for a quarantine) - only 1 elevator works for all the floors - high price - you have to pay extra for washing machines and driers

Careful! Maybe you are like I was two years ago. Thinking "It can't be that bad to stay there. I need a flat. The website looks professional. And it can't be as expensive as everyone says here.". Be warned - the company Camelot takes all the money it can, coming up with unexplained rent increases. Charging for things you don't consume or nee, even 1 year after you have moved out. Not answering to mails when you have questions regarding their cost management. They just take the money they want, which is possible since you have to grant them direct access to your debit card. Btw., if you wonder why there are only little reviews here: They deleted their whole entry and created a new one since the old reviews (of which there were many) were so bad. If you are wondering "why doesn't U-Twente do something about it?": I think they are legally not allowed to remove them from their website and can't warn people - but they do know about the various problems. So be warned, this company does not mess around!

Ever heard of Enron? People at Camelot are as ill-intentioned and arrogant as them. Their millionaire CEO Joost van Gestel wants to keep filling his pockets surreptitiously. The bad: If you take a room here you are making a deal with an unscrupulous organisation. Expect *mistakes* on their part. Camelot did not respect the contract I signed with them and overcharged me a lot of money. Camelot started as an anti-squat company and has a whole playbook on how to bully people. Their equation is simple: it is more expensive for the tenants to litigate with them than to pay. The good: Rooms are OK, mine had a nice view but poor sound-proofing.

Expect a massive additional chage with no justification what so ever when you are leaving.

After moving out Camelot only refunded part of the 2000 eur deposit. This week I received a bill of 900 eur for service costs, which were supposed to be included in the rental price. Scam! If you value your money do not rent an apartment here. Camelot deleted all previous comments in Google Maps, guess why? University of Twente merchandises about them but does little to prevent the problems. UT is complacent with Camelot’s attitude, be aware!

Like others have said, this organisation is untrustworthy and the most unethical I've ever encountered. I had to call them several times to get back the ridiculously high deposit and they demand money for things that are in direct violation of the rental contract. Surprised they haven't been taken down by lawsuits yet - any lawyer would have a field day.

Careful everybody, after a year of the end of my contract camelot send me a service cost list of what i have used. My room’s ventilation didn’t work hence my room is very hot making me not using the heater. But on the service cost list they charge me 224 on heating which doesn’t even make any sense. Imagine living for only 6 months and they charge you to pay extra 792 bc of heating and other irrelevant stuff like ‘internet’ in which eduroam was used from the university that is supposed to be free for students. Services are basically very bad and i really don’t recommend living in this scamming company.
