Even thought I signed my contract, but didn't conclude it with the deposit payment, they still asked me for a cancellation fee. Obviusly I didn't pay it and they didn't bother me again. Everything seems very sketchy... They even increased the price 20 out of nowhere with no decent explanation. These people need to understand that the relationship between the contractor and the residents is key to keep a good business. Be careful.

Horrible! Please don't come here unless you have no other option! if you really have to, sign a contract for 1 month only (and renew it until you found a good place). The whole place is sketchy. A lot of the info on the website are just plain wrong. The bathrooms, showerd and kitchens are filthy and they're not cleaned thoroughly. Furthermore, they randomly increased the rent to everyone even though there's no clause for increase in the contract. Another reason to stay away is that they pretend to be a hotel so that means you have absolutely no dutch tenant protection laws in your favour. They can basically kick you out at any time with no warning if they please. Also the contract is not terminabile so that means that if you have a contract for more months and for some reason you have to move out, you still need to pay everything you signed for! In conclusion, avoid this place like the plague.
Going abroad, away from your family and friends can be scary. The Village Groningen has definitely become my home away from home just as they constantly try to make you feel and made it so much easier to connect with like minded people from the very first day onwards. Great memories, amazing experience and friends that I will hopefully stay in touch with for very long. Highly recommended :)
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Predatory practices. Huge rental costs. Limited rental Protection. Mold in rooms. This place should be shut down.
staff really friendly here, good facilities for study, gym and hanging out and location is close to the city and right next to the beautiful stadspark. Accomodation itself (bedroom, kitchen and bathroom) really basic and by no means luxury but is sufficient ... :) mess and noise is really dependant on the other occupants in your block but I like the fact the village and its residents ensured that each block have cleaning measures put in place to make sure everyone cleans up after themselves to make it a safe and pleasant place for everyone
