It just needed to be more. Pardon me, but it was all in Dutch. A smattering of English translation would have been preferred. EDIT: the owner replied that the tours are indeed in English. I have not taken an audio tour. In my review above, I was referring to the descriptions of the museum objects on the wall - those were all in Dutch.

Beautiful building and examplary exposition design. ️
Only the price is a little unbelievable high, 20euro for an adult. Exhibits might be many, but less interesting.
Really extensive exhibition, but 2 hours was not enough by far.
This was a very informative and interesting visit to an incredibly historic building. This museum (in a building near 700 years old) covers the history of psychology and it’s associated illnesses and treatments over the years (from the medieval times, through the plague and up to the time of Freud and today). The focus is on meeting individuals who have suffered from mental illness, how they live and how many have learned to use their unique condition to create art and harness talent. It's not necessary to book in advance, however you may wish to do so if you want an English tour. Most information is in Dutch only right now (most of the interactive features) however they have plenty of written information in English. Give yourself about 2 hours to enjoy.
I think it's a great idea to have a psychiatric museum and was really very curious about what would be inside. University one of the main rooms was closed but there was a reduction in price. All the explanations are in Dutch so you are given a booklet with info in English. It was a bit tricky working out where the right information was for each exhibit, if it had all been numbered it would have helped.
Very close to the train station, easy-to-visit. A very rare topic and needs more people to understand it. Luckily I can find this museum near Amsterdam. Hope there will be more English explainations in the future.
I, along with my colleagues was given a very pleasant tour. This small, yet enjoyable museum has a lot to offer in terms of history as well as science education. Especially for 2nd school biology classes, with focus on the human brain, this is a great learning environment.
