Well now... this place is intimidated by big groups. We were with 15 people and they avoided us like the plague. Had to physically walk up to staff to ask for service. When they were around, they tried... Took 2.5 hrs for the first 2 courses to come out. By the time it quieted down, we were pretty much rushed through the rest of it. Food was fine but not anything I would go back for, but maybe it's because the experience was so bad that I just couldn't appreciate it properly. Not sure about this place. Maybe it would be better with a smaller party.

Our evening at Het Gouden Kalf was just perfect. We had a great dinner and the staff was super friendly. We had a 3 Course Dinner where you can choose starter, main course and dessert from 5 variations each. So everybody will find something (vegetarian, fish and meat) We would say it was our best dinner in Scheveningen and if you like good food - just go there!
Was a Thursday night special, 5 course mystery meals for 29 euros. Sounds like a good deal for me. Turned out to be an explosion of tastes! So pleased I went with this restaurant for a gathering today. Would definitely come back again.
Really..really excellent food!!! Wow, if u want food that is similar to molecular gastronomy, cone to the Gouden Kalf. Wow!! The food blew my mind...it was sooo different then the normal usual meal. The price for all the effort put into the food is phenomenal!! Come here for a nice setting and atmosphere, but really come for the food!! Right now, they have a 2 for the price of 1 lunch special..
Amazing!! food, superb quality and worth the reasonable price. Staff were brilliant.
