They organize many different horse / pony riding trips. For the small kids younger than 9 there are indoor pony rides. For older there are camps and daily trips.l for beginners and amateur riders. Professionals can even rent their own horses. The environment provides excellent areas to ride, especially through forest and on the beach. For families they organize horse cart trips through the different areas of Terschelling. There is even an evening ride with campfire. And very affordable.

Summary: take the other company. We called this company a day before our planned ride and asked if we had to reserve for the next day’s ride at 13:00. They said we didn’t have to, that we could just walk in. When we arrived the next day after an hour of bike ride against the wind they told us they were full, that we should’ve left name and phone. No ride and absolutely no compensation of our time and physical effort. Our last day on the island is ruined thanks to these people.
Nice ponies
Definitely NOT recommended for beginners. I want to clarify that it was nice, and the horses are sweet. But, we asked explicitly if it was safe for us having never been on a horse before, and not speaking Dutch. They said yes. They put us on a horse without instructions and \we\ started riding. Instructions were mostly in Dutch we very brief translation into English, and all while going. They had us go trotting and one of us fell from the horse. They just had her jump on the horse again and when we finished they didn't even ask how she was feeling. There are many ways for expert and responsible people to avoid these situations (which could have ended up much worse than it did), like giving instructions and doing some short practice before starting, and/or making groups to distinguish real beginners from beginners who already know how to ride, and making groups in Dutch and groups in English separately. As it is, it seems irresponsible and shameless of them.
In het mooie dorp Hoorn zit het huifkarbedrijf Terpstra die mooie tochten organiseert over het mooie Terschelling. Een prachtig 3-stel paarden trok de huifkar en met gemak konden ze de 35/40 km tocht aan. Respect voor deze paarden en hun menner. Veel geleerd over de geschiedenis, natuur van Terschelling en het was een prachtige toch op deze zonnige dag in oktober 2020 op Terschelling. Bedankt dat ook wij en onze hond Mindy mee mochten reizen.
