This is a great store - and old fashioned hardware store with helpful, experienced people and a great selection. I've used them literally hundreds of times and have only had good experiences. Whether buying one screw or an expensive tool I've always gotten service with a smile. They even went out of their way to help me once or twice with a couple of small projects, once finding a piece of scrap wood of unusual size and shape and cutting it to size for me for free. Support this kind of local hardware store - they deserve it!

Ordered a name-plate, for the distance between the holes I gave the previous nameplate. Promise: will get it within a week. Instead, a month later I get a call the nameplate is ready. Upon coming home the holes were off by a lot. Going back to the store they checked and no-one had written down the distance so they just winged it. No apology. They said they would fix it and it wouldn't take a month this time. A month later I still hadn't received a call, so went by to see if they had it. They did, but just hadn't called me. Again no apology. Won't be coming back here.

Mixed review: sometimes have been helped well, other times they can be a bit condescending. Won’t go again, even though I prefer to support local stores. They rented a machine to me, which turned out was broken. I wasted a lot of time, and had to drag the heavy machine back & forth, for nothing. No compensation for this either, so that’s the last visit for me. EDIT: after reading the reply below: how about starting with an apology? You could have fixed the machine and offered to bring it, or at least rent it to me for free to make up for your bad service. None of that happened, so I’ll be spending my money elsewhere moving forward.
