Kees van der Westen Espressonistic Works B.V. is a consumer electronics company based out of Van Elderenlaan 6, WAALRE, Netherlands.|At the conclusion of his industrial design study in the early 80’s, Kees Van Der Westen notices that Italian build espresso machines were not nearly as beautiful as they used to be in the early 50’s and 60’s. He designed and created a unique machine unlike any other ever build. That was the spark that started his journey in the world of espresso. Until the early 90’s he built one-off’s, each machine extraordinary in design and usability. In the 90’s he started creating a series machine, the Stromboli, of which 13 were made. Researching and perfecting the technique used in machines worldwide gave him a huge amount of experience which led to the Mirage, naturally with a beautiful design. The two models that followed started on the design table of Van Der Westen. After intensive collaboration with specialists worldwide, there are currently 3 models being build: The Mirage, Speedster and the Spirit. Every machine is hand build in the workshop in the Netherlands. For many baristas worldwide a Kees Van Der Westen is the preferred machine to deliver the highest possible quality.
