We rode took rented bikes across the river on the free ferry. Then we followed a canal until we were in the country, but that was only 30 minutes. A great cheese shop in town.

Rented a canoe from here for few hours. Good way to spend a hot day. You get close to birds and some other animals and there are nice marked routes. Views are not spectacular, but typical dutch :) 30 mins from Amsterdam centre by bike, so easy to reach.
