THE FIRST LATIN AMERICAN ART MUSEUM OF THE NETHERLANDS About Us: LAKMA - Latin Art Museum of The Netherlands, is a project headed by the Gausachs Foundation. Our mission at LAKMA – Latin Art Museum, is to collect, conserve, study and disseminate Latin American art, dating from the early 20th Century to the present day. The Foundation was established in July 2006 to run cultural, educational and development projects. It is a, non-profit organization formed in accordance with the Civil Code of the Nederlands with the number KvK358227, In 2007 The Foundation decided to create The LAKMA Latin Art Museum of Amersfoort and has permanently destined its patrimony for this purposes. Our main objectives are: to educate the public, and to stimulate public interest in Latin American artists; to contribute to awareness of Latin America’s cultural achievements, encourage appreciation of regional cultural and artistic diversity; collaborating to these ends with the national and international community, promote artistic exchange between national, regional, and international institutions, and support innovative programs that focus on the visual arts and Latin American culture.
