Really great place for relaxing, watching passersby and great expresso. Free wifi and great service. Close by to everything in central Leiden. Will go again! Prices are a little high but the tea comes in a pot instead of a cup and I like that the drinks come with a small candy or cookie on the side. recommend

Pretty decent place for lunch. We had coffees, shashuka and focaccia. All good, albeit not astounding. Recommended.
Today (Sunday), a friend and I decided to try the High Tea at Anne & Max! It was absolutely amazing! The tea was great and the food was perfect! We absolutely loved it and definitely recommend it! The High Tea is served after 15:00 and the price was 21 p.p. for the standard high tea (they also have a vegan version)! It included: 5 different teas, soup (1 per person), 1 quiche (so we had to share), 3 types of toasts (6 peaces so we each had our own of each flavor - they were beyond good), lemon custard (A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.), jam, cream, 2 scones, 2 little cakes, 2 dates covered in dark chocolate, 2 pcs of dark chocolate, 1 “cheese cake” (we had to share - pot picture), one carrot cake! Pheewww, it was a lot of delicious food! We loved it!
The food was very tasty but cold. The service was friendly but completely incompetent. We waited for ever and got several dishes the wrong way. One person ended up eating alone because it took so long.
Great little place for breakfast or lunch. Good friendly service
