A very nice museum just stands in the center of Leiden. Big room inside, and a lot of information. Great view to see the whole Leiden from above.

See the inside of a working windmill. Beautiful view from about half way up. And speaking of "up" the stairs are not for the faint of heart. Mostly just step ladders. Would be lots of fun with kids. #vero #travel #wanderlust

Fun area to hang out and walk around. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. We didn't enter the museum but there are nice sculptures to look at and the mill is beautiful from the outside.

Small museum with a good view. Interesting history. Friendly staff. Not a place to go if you have trouble walking up/down steep stairs.

Beautiful windmill! It is also situated in a very nice and quaint town. It was so peaceful.

Went back to 1860. Life was hardworking but simple. This place looked as if people have gone out somewhere and will return soon to continue working in the windmill. I’ve spent 2 hours and it went just like that. Leiden is a scenic quaint town and this windmill museum is the jewel in its crown.

The windmill itself is great, but I found the lady who works there very rude. It was getting to 5 pm when they close and I went to the bathroom after my husband went there and came out. She told me that they are closing and that they have two bathrooms, even though she could see that I was looking after our daughter (active toddler) and had to wait until my husband finishes in the bathroom so that I can go there when he looks after her. Eventually that lady 'kindly' allowed me to go in but said: "Hurry up". I think it's a disgrace to treat a customer like this, and it wasn't even 5 pm yet.
