Like many a Dutch golf course Hoge Kleij is located within earshot (and occasionally sight) of a busy motorway. This aside, the golf course resides in a splendidly mature woodland environment of predominantly pine and fir trees, with many other varieties mixed in as well. The sandy heathland soil, which ensures excellent year-round playing conditions, still supports the occasional tracts of heather, mainly found in front of the tee-boxes.

De 3 sterren zijn voor het bosgebied van deze Golfclub. Want het bos ziet er mooi verzorgd uit, het is zeker jammer dat er zo'n golfclub zit anders was het vast een veel groter en mooier bos geweest. Hoeveel bossen moeten er nog gekapt worden voor golfers?
