Wheelchair-accessible entrance
After we got our puppy we enrolled for a puppy class at hondenschool blij & gehoorzaam. We mainly wanted our dog to socialize with other dogs and get support raising him. The sign up process was pretty straightforward. We sent an email and got a response telling us when we could start and what to bring. Upon arriving at our first day we found the organization to not be great. It was unclear who our teacher was and where we had to go. The following lessons, especially because of the summer holiday, were also a bit chaotic as we had a different teacher every week and we found ourselves to be in classes with different dogs. The main annoyance is that we often received rescheduling or cancellation mails a few hours before the lesson would start. After the summer holidays this improved and the lessons were better organized. We did still find the curriculum to be a bit vague: it seems we did the same lesson about 4 times, but this is likely due to ‘learning by repetition’. The teachers were all great and very friendly. Overall we had a good and fun experience, but would recommend the dog school to make the program/curriculum a bit clearer.

The teachers here are good, but we find the lessons to be quite chaotic because the school isn’t very well organised at all. It’s a shame because their disorganisation lets the rest of the school down!

Mijn hond Falco en ik genieten van alle lessen waarbij wij onwijs veel leren. Regelmatig ervaar ik door alle tips en adviezen verrassende veranderingen, eigenlijk vooral verbeteringen, in het gedrag van Falco, en feitelijk ook dat van mijzelf, waardoor hij en ik elkaar steeds beter gaan begrijpen. Een waanzinnig mooi proces wat echt tot stand komt door alle lessen, zonder dat waren wij echt niet zover gekomen met Falco en al zijn temperament. Ook zijn wij erg blij met de wijze waarop de lessen tijdens de corona-crisis door Blij en Gehoorzaam zijn opgepakt, aanvankelijk leuke video-lessen en de lessen zijn wat later ondanks alles gecontinueerd zodra dat ook maar kon.
