Food is on the slightly higher end of the scale but the portion was generous and comes with a lot of sides. Had the fish, but it was the curry coleslaw which was . If you reserve a spot, you can eat in a tent - though regulars seem to enjoy drinking at the bar. I found the service just right - they come by just when you need them to but leave you alone to enjoy and take your time for the most part.

The staff is friendly and the place nice but the food doesn't worst the price. The quality of the meat and the bread from the hamburger are really disappointed. Mussels are good however.
Mussels ... not from Brussels (#jeanclaudevandamme), but Pieterburen.. Nicely prepared with salicornia and provided with a board with fresh potatoes and homemade vegetables. The starter was a cold smoked salmon prepared by a retired man. And of course the shrimp from Groningen is not lacking in the mustard soup.
This is the central hub of Pieterburen. If you are going to go \wadlopen\ this is where you meet up. We booked the hotel next door and could have our breakfast here everyday between 8-11, the breakfast bar is really Dutch, with bread, cereal and coffee. They also offer lunch with some great local sources, smoked mackerel for example. And dinner as well. But we didn't have any. Great selection of beers, mostly special beers, so watch your wallet ;) If you are in Pieterburen, you will end up here, so try to enjoy it.
Very nice place , with delicious food, but really slow service
