After previous editions in, among others, Japan, Australia, the US, China, Singapore and Mexico, the WC is coming to the Netherlands now! - RoboCup is comprised of 15 different competitions, divided into 4 categories: o Soccer robots which play soccer games between two teams in a fully autonomous way. o Care robots that help people execute daily tasks. o Rescue robots, capable of finding victims in emergency situations. o Junior competitions in which about 1000 young people compete against each other with self-made and -programmed robots. - In 2012, the Dutch team Tech United became the world champion in robot soccer. - Teams from several Dutch universities will compete in the various competitions and show that the Netherlands is one of the world’s leaders in robotics.
