Great option for a haircut. They are courteous, efficient and even review how the haircut was done soon after. The stylists are students and were honest about what they know and don't know. It includes a hairwash which makes it an even better experience. The haircut I needed was basic, which they excelled at. They follow good hygiene and have good customer service. All round great experience. I highly recommend going there and will go back for my next haircut.
Offensive and unprofessional The manager/supervisor refused to accept my Master Card and said that they only accept ormal cards\! (aka Dutch VISA) They did not specify it in the website, or otherwise I would have avoided Kappersakademie in the first place. Then, she offended me by asking me to leave something behind (like I would run away without paying) and to go find the exact amount in cash since she did not have change to give me back from a 20 euro bill. I regret that, out of courtesy (to the student! - and not the manager/supervisor), I did it. It was her responsibility to go out and make change, not mine. In addition, I wrote the same in a review in their website and a message popped up saying that \Reviews under 3 stars are put on hold\. At least this explains the high rating in their website!
As someone who can't speak the language, I was nervous about coming here and getting a haircut (it's not my first time abroad needing one, and the last time it didn't go so well). However, this was honestly one of the best haircut experiences I've ever had. Tessa did a great job with my hair, and she was getting too. If you cannot speak Dutch and need a haircut, this is the place to go. Best part is that it comes with a hair wash, which seems to become more uncommon in the US.
