And it does. I work with entrepreneurs that recognize the need for honest feedback and advice based on experience and a similar mindset. As an entrepreneur myself, I have struggled for many years, on my own, to make the right decisions at key moments, to think and brainstorm on where I wanted myself and my companies to aspire to. I haven't reached my goals yet, and I hope I never will. When I started RogerWilco I was also starting up several other companies after years of working for a lot of different companies, I realized that owning and operating my own businesses was hard, though work, but also worth the trouble. At least I would be setting my own goals and mission, instead of trying to fulfill those of my manager or CEO. I wanted to control both creatively as well as financially on where my life was heading and I think I did that in the best way I know how: become an entrepreneur, but also become self-aware of my own limitations. Instead of charging forward pushing aside all help, I realized this time around that a lot can be said for partnering up. In duo, there is not a monologue but a conversation. And then I started giving advice, as well as receiving it. Turns out that when you pay it forward, when you accept you are not superhuman, able to master every skill needed to run a company, you will let in people to give advice and feedback. Find the strength to convince naysayers, find energy in good instruction. And perhaps who knows? A million things can start with a simple hello.
