I was in this theater last year watching the performance of the senior students of Codarts circus and the truth is that it was a pleasant experience, both for the sensation of the room and the show I went to see. It is appreciated that important theaters bring this type of action to the public that would otherwise be difficult to enjoy

Even though I can easily overlook the architectural sins of theatres and music venues' exterior designs, ugly interiors are inexcusable. And the Theater Rotterdam Schouwburg has one of the ugliest I've seen in the Netherlands. It is sterile, but not in a sleek and stylish way; rather, it reminisces a hospital that hasn't been updated since the 1970s. Moreover, the chairs in the auditorium have little leg space and are not comfortable enough to enjoyably watch a three-hour opera performance. Refurbishments are badly needed, unless the theatre wants to scale down its ambitions and not schedule opera or other lengthy full-scale performances anymore.
