'Utrecht on Film 1920-1980' is a very nice exhibition and absolutely worth seeing. Especially if you know the city it is great (and sometimes shocking) to see how it looked so many years ago. Utrecht is well documented by its citizens over the years. Some of them have been really creative too, making mini featurettes on 8mm. The Utrecht Archive is located in the remains of the former Abbey of St. Paul (Paulusabdij) which was founded around 1050. The museumshop has a good selection of books and postcards. Very friendly staff is helpful and happy to tell you all that you want to know.

I loved it even though it was all in Dutch, no english translations but the set up was different, felt like your exploring rather then being in a museum
Brilliant museum - a lot more fun than you might expect of an archive. I particularly enjoyed the divorce booth and the coach ride.
Nice but small museum. Free coffee included in the ticket.
Great place for a rainy day! AND IT’s FREE entry!!! Lovely staff, interesting historical building. We visited during the Utrecht On Film exhibition \u003e SUPER interesting to see the historical footage of Utrecht, (especially if you know the city). Will go back soon to see the permanent exhibition.
