This station lies between Hoorn and Mendemblik the two end stations of the 19th century steam train line in the North of the Netherlands. Everything including the tracks, signalling and communicating systems as well as the renovated coaches and steam train retain their originality. Postal system and supporting staffs including station master wear the old look. Fantastic 90 minute ride on a steam train to catch another heritage steamer 'Friesland' from Mandemblik to Ackhuizan.

Loved it the trip on the steam tram was great and the ship was very interesting we got off at the outdoor museum. The people at the Stoomtram were wonderful and were great fun.
