Lots of Wind mills. After I was there, I just realised that the wings can be turned. I think they need to turn it according to wind direction. Each wind mills is used on diffent purpose. This one is used to grind spices. Some are used for grid some kind of coal.

Great place to visit this museum after take the photo at Netherland's windmill. In there you can watch the history of Windmill which operated to mill spicy. The interior in the windmill look like still original comparing when it first started. After go around inside, you can buy authentic Zaanse Schan's souvenir here.

We visited the area before the high season and while it was cold and windy we had a wonderful time. Our favorite place was the spice mill. We bought stone ground mustard that is made there. Wow, it is delicious! this village is worth the easy 15 minute train ride from Amsterdam Central station.

Amazing display of technology from a couple of hundred years ago. It's amazing to see these contraptions work and looking at all that wind energy transformed into kinetic... makes you understand how lucky the Netherlands were to have this abundant power source for their land reclaim projects of the centuries.
