Good, challenging course - especially when the weather is against you! Some interesting holes and definitely a course that rewards strategy over power, with a couple of nice risk / reward holes that will either make or break your score - hole 13 in particular. A word of warning that during the autumn / winter, balls can have a tendency to plug and disappear! We played yesterday (October) and there were a couple of instances where perfectly fine shots totally disappeared - frustrating but that's golf! It could well be different during spring / summer. As with any polder course in the Netherlands, there's plenty of water and we played on a particularly windy day, so you have to place a lot of trust in nature to blow you back on track! It's certainly a course you have to play a couple of times before you work out the best way to make a good score. Unfortunately the clubhouse was closed due to COVID-19 but the food was pretty good, from memory of a previous visit.
A day to remember. Rental clubs from hell, all clubs came with grafite shafts and shunky club heads. Most of the carry bags were also broken. Ad to that, that the greens were in terrible shape with a cut of like 5mm. The best thing of Zaanse golf club is that the restaurant served desent burgers.
